Bookmyshow crashes as Coldplay India concert tickets go live

Coldplay fans across India faced major disappointment as the highly-anticipated sale of concert tickets on BookMyShow's website and app was delayed due to technical issues. The tickets were supposed to go live at noon IST, but the website and app crashed under overwhelming demand. Fans eagerly awaiting the sale were met with error messages and a website that hadn’t gone live even by 12:15 pm.

Many users took to social media to express their frustration, sharing screenshots of the error messages they encountered while trying to secure tickets. For some, the app remained unresponsive, leaving them unsure if they would get a chance to see Coldplay live. By 12:18 pm, the tickets finally went live on the BookMyShow platform, though some users were still facing issues with the app.

Ticket prices for the Coldplay concert range from Rs 2,500 to Rs 12,500, with premium lounge seats available for Rs 35,000. The lounge seats offer an elevated viewing experience, along with food and beverage services. A maximum of eight tickets can be purchased in one transaction. Despite the initial hiccups, the tickets are now available for purchase, but many fans remain wary of further technical problems.

Coldplay’s return to India is part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, marking their first performance in the country in nine years. The iconic British band will be performing at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025, drawing thousands of fans from across the country for what is expected to be one of the biggest music events of the year.
